Paint/Manufacturing Engineer

Our Client has an immediate need of a Paint/Manufacturing Engineer.  Someone that has the experience of setting a paint line up in a facility, who can work on building, implementing, troubleshooting a paint line from start to finish.  This may include designing parts of it, and will certainly include installation, testing, costing, etc.  The successful candidate will need excellent communication skills, engineering or paint background, ability to work under pressure and with tight deadlines


Qualifications



  • Must have experience with metal parts including various types of steel.

  • Must be experienced in wet or powder paint process (or both)

  • Must have experience with pre treatment processes

  • Robotic experience

  • Jigs and fixture design knowledge

  • Must have experience working with diverse parts, low volumes and high volumes

  • A graduate of a Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering Degree or Diploma or equivalent work experience

  • Project Management experience is an asset

  • Team player, positive attitude towards new concepts and innovations

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD/SolidWorks and GD&T

  • Be able to work independently with the ability to prioritize and multi task in this fast paced environment

  • Must have superior communication skills and above average analytical and problem solving skills

Duties



  • Set up, implement and maintain the paint line to company standards

  • Specify new tools, equipment and fixtures where required

  • Recognize and resolve process related difficulties with current and future projects

  • Serve as a coordinating resource for supervisors, management, hourly and salaried personnel in the daily operation and functions of the production process.

  • Liaise with manufacturing, quality and maintenance departments on manufacturing concerns

  • Troubleshooting for production problems whenever needed

  • Modify processes to improve productivity.

  • Participate in corrective action to meet ongoing cost, quality and delivery

  • Give precise instructions and pass on information in a timely and accurate manner which includes the development and implementation of work instructions
