We are currently recruiting for an Electrical Engineer for one of our top customers in Southern Ontario. They produce  corrugated cardboard products.

The Opportunity: Use your Electrical Engineering knowledge and experience to troubleshoot, improve engineering and design solutions to equipment and/ or process problems. You will be involved in and manage various plant projects. You will lead cross-functional teams of internal and external resources to meet project objectives. Your innovative solutions, enthusiasm, strong organizational and time management abilities will all play important roles in your ability to succeed. This is a new position within the organization that will continue to evolve and grow into a corporate resource responsible for electrical aspects of several facilities in Ontario. Chief Engineer/ 2nd Class Stationary 11-Sep-2008


Our Customer, located in Mississauga, requires a 2nd Class Stationary Engineer. You would be in charge of the total operation of the food processing plant in accordance with the TSSA Act 2000. This is the flagship plant of a national food processor. This position is open due to staff movement to another facility. This position reports through to Maintenance and you would ensure total care and control of a large ammonia-refrigerated plant.

The long term potential in the food processing industry is very good. It is a service industry and we consumers are demanding more local fresh, healthy and safe packaged food in Ontario. There is a high level of authority and responsibility in this position. The latest and best technology in the world is used and sustained. The career growth potential is to Maintenance Manager or Plant Manager in this or one of several other facilities. The salary income is targeted at 80 K plus.

You must possess a valid and current certificate as a 2nd Class Stationary Engineer at all times. We would like you to have 7 plus years of maintenance experience in a unionized environment. This position is not in the union.

Sr. Controls Technologist

Our Customer is seeking a Sr. Controls Technologist to join their Engineering Team. They are recognized worldwide as the technological leader in non-ferrous products that serve the heat transfer, industrial, power and process, electrical, electronic, automotive, and consumer product markets. They are a well established international company with a long history. This position is located in their South Western Ontario facility.

 

The position:

You would report to the Engineering Manager and work in a group of 5-6 other people. Your work is all project-driven. Projects range in size and duration. There is a lot of work to be done; enough to keep you busy for a minimum of 12 months. You will work closely with another Sr. Controls Technologist. You will be responsible for a specific area of the plant. You will supervise installations and internal and external contractors as required. Some projects will require interaction with shop floor operators and production management depending on the nature and scope of the project. Your confidence, practical experience, ability to work with a cross-section of people a various levels of seniority will be critical to your success in this role. Your hands-on experience working with and knowledge of Allen Bradley PLCs, Micrologic and robotics will be put to good use combined with your sound understanding of electrical processes.

 

Requirements:

  • Mechanical OR Electrical Technologist with a specialization in Controls

  • 5-8 years practical industry experience in a manufacturing facility

  • Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs, Micrologic and robotics

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Proficient user of AutoCAD for design work

  • A confident self –starter with good organization and time management skills

 

The working hours are Monday to Friday days and occasional overtime a project demands require.

The Position
We require three people to work in decommissioning Health Care equipment such as MRI and X-ray equipment. This equipment is to be removed and packaged for use in other locations throughout the world. We would like you to be physically fit, have technical training and experience in an electrical or electronic field. About one month of training and technical support will be provided. Your activities will be coordinated with contractors who are preparing locations such as Hospitals and large Medical Clinics for the removal and installation of new equipment. The equipment is Siemens, Phillips and GE. This is kind of a junior project coordinator job with lots of hands on. You could be expected to work some extra hours as the project process and other activities in deconstruction and construction demand. This type of work will appeal to junior people who wish to build a career in this type of critical service industry serving the Health Care industry in North America.
